I am proud and utterly delighted to extend my heartiest welcome to you. As one of the pioneers in technology and innovation and a leader in academia and scientific learning, the National Institute of Technology Calicut is inching towards becoming a global brand. The institute is forging new collaborations and strengthening the old ones.
The 120 hectares of lush green campus of NITC is brimming with vibrant flora and fauna that is incomparable to any of our contemporaries. We also have a robust society-institute-industry exchange, where our faculty members and researchers relentlessly deliver solutions that a futuristic and sustainable. Our efforts have made us 23rd among the institution of higher education (NIRF 2023) and 8th in Atal National Ranking of Innovation all Institution achievements.
Although the institute has been successfully contributing to our vast and diverse nation through high-quality education, we uphold and greatly regard our commitment to the international community too. And in doing so we reaffirm the ideas of inclusivity and diversity at the same time, which can be made possible by opening channels for students globally. We have welcomed students and scholars on NIT Calicut campus to our various degree programmes, and doctoral research programmes, apart from frequent exchange programmes and academic collaborations in multiple traditional and multidisciplinary domains. And as we inch towards a new academic year, we plan to roll out specific programmes to appeal to the international community. Further steps are also being taken to extend infrastructural support for these programmes.
We are hopeful that the beneficiaries of this programme will not only achieve academic enrichment but also value and cherish the rich and wholesome cultural milieu of NIT Calicut, and also the state of Kerala, which is also called “the God’s Own Country” for all the right reasons. Likewise this will also bring to our rich campus a global vibrance through an amalgamation of the diverse cultures and traditions of our international students community. We are certain that the campus will receive many more cultural ambassadors, such as yourself.
Our thriving alumni network, spanning several countries, is a testament to NITC's commitment to internationalisation. We remain dedicated to fostering academic, cultural, and collaborative partnerships with the international community.
I am greatly delighted to welcome you to be a part of the NIT Calicut fraternity and I eagerly await to see the rich milieu of global cultures on this campus.
